Is there anybody on Earth who don’t play video games like me? I tried to, but I just couldn’t do it, I couldn’t handle everything that was going on the screen and I was like "Oh shit this is hard." 🤦🏻‍♀️

„SuperBetter“ by Jane McGonigal provides tons more evidence & studies – in my personal opinion the most interesting book about the benefits of games and gamification.

I’m a 17 y.o teen , I played almost every single strategy or RTS(real-time strategy ) game (I play other genres of course) , from ancient wars and empires to Medieval Period to WWs(1 and 2 ) , Cold War and even Modern Wars , I have a huge amount of information about Battles(dates..) to people ( leaders , generals , politicians…) to events. And all of this information helped me understand many other things like Law and Politics , Diplomacy , Military Planning , Management , economy and even science and art. I consider video games an advantage if you use it in a good way , it will help you in your school , life , even daily life.

Hi Ali, I’m a registered nurse pursuing to be a nurse practitioner. I’ve been playing video games since the NES days. My wife is a pharmacist and hates video games and often get on my case when our kids and I are playing for extended periods. I agree with you in regards to the benefits of video games as evidence has proven so. I truly appreciated this video as it came from an highly educated and accomplished individual such as yourself. It just goes to show if video games are consumed in a healthy manner it has the potential to enhance cognitive/memory/critical thinking skills. Video game therapy has so much untapped potential for many diseases and im looking forward to future studies that explore such areas. Thank you once again and wishing you continued succes.

Let’s assess a topic objectively and critically.
"I’m not really going to focus on the negative aspects of video games"
Sounds like some serious confirmatory bias

There’s an embarrassing lack of critical thinking in this comment section. "Just read books lol" sounds just like the words of someone who doesn’t read, or has awful taste.

Stop looking at this issue from a black and white perspective; things are more complicated. Games are no different than books or movies or music, in the sense that most of it is soulless trash infected with corporatism and materialism, and only a small handful is truly something educating, enlightening and possibly even artful. If I see a gamer playing Virtue’s Last Reward vs someone reading Harry Potter, I’m siding with the gamer. If I see a gamer playing Fortnite vs someone reading Woolf or Joyce, I’m siding with the reader.

You can’t judge someone’s intellect or character unless you know exactly what they are engaging in plus the underlying reasons why they engage with it, and this idea that "games: bad, books: good" is incredibly naive, reductive and intellectually dishonest. Do some actual digging and think for yourselves for once.

  37. Peter Wu on August 16, 2020 at 9:55 pm

You are wasting the time for playing the video games I am afraid. 😉

  38. Study time on August 16, 2020 at 9:56 pm

Man literally says playing games is good for brain but I rage so bad and literally break my monitor or keyboard while playing games and get a headache XD.

  39. xLEF7H00K on August 16, 2020 at 9:56 pm

I’m so glad to hear all of this! I’m also an avid gamer and WoW player, and i’m a quite sick of hearing that it is a waste of time. Good to know that I will be able to play WoW still once I finish med school 😛

Hey i saw this and i said "hey maybe i can convince my parents that video games are good!"

  46. Daniel Hernandez on August 16, 2020 at 10:05 pm

Of course in a balance, videogames may probably inflict more damage to people, in general terms, than benefits.

  47. Deadly Desai on August 16, 2020 at 10:06 pm
