This happens all the time. I have had friends afraid to say they lost their wedding ring. It is a perfectly reasonable explanation. Many don’t want to hear all whining, nagging and scolding about the person not being careful or being outright irresponsible. She seems super paranoid to jump to such a conclusion.
I lost some diamonds out of the set of rings my husband bought me. I did too many things like gardening and carpentry etc. So I just put them up. When I checked to see how much it would cost to replace the diamonds It would cost him more than if he bought me a new set. I didn’t want a new set Today after 56 years Of marriage and no rings on my finger. He passed away. I would rather have him than a stupid ring. Because in the end That’s all that is left to touch ! The original rings are still in my safe. No ring makes a marriage
